no secret that there are many websites and online services that are
blocked and not accessible in many countries. For example, if you’ve ever tried
to access
Netflix in China you’ve already learned that the service isn’t
available. This is for a few reasons but mostly because Netflix has
copyright agreements with many movie studios that prevent them from
offering their movie and TV streaming services to anyone outside the
United States and few other western countries. While Netflix may
not “
officially” offer their services in China, it is still possible to
access and stream Netflix in China. In the rest of this post I’m going
to show you how you can not only signup and start streaming Netflix in
China in about 10 minutes or less. No prior technical experience is

How To Watch Netflix in China
To
understand how to access Netflix in China we must first understand why
Netflix does not currently work in China. The reason for this is because
companies like Netflix use a technique called “geo-targeting” that
allows that to read your IP address to determine where you are in the
world. If you log onto Netflix from an IP address in New York, Netflix
will work just fine. If you log onto Netflix from an IP address located
in Beijing, you will be blocked from accessing the site.
Therefore,
to watch Netflix in China we need to change our IP address from a
chinese IP address to an American IP address. Don’t worry, this sounds a
lot harder than it is!
Changing Your IP Address with a VPN
By
far the easiest way to temporarily change your IP address is by using a
VPN, which stands for Virtual Private Network. In short, a VPN is a
private network that allows you to not only protect your browsing data
but also change your IP address.
